Dr Jemimah Ride

Dr Jemimah Ride is a health economist working as part of the Centre. She is a member of the Health Economics Unit, Centre for Health Policy at the University of Melbourne, the Health Services group in the Population Health theme at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and the Health Services Research Unit at the Royal Children’s Hospital. She has experience across clinical medicine, health policy, and health economics, with a particular focus on mental health. After completing her PhD at Monash University, in which she examined efficiency and equity in perinatal mental health services, Jemimah worked for two years in the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York in the UK, where she examined the role of high quality primary care in improving outcomes and costs for people with serious mental illness. Her work includes examining patient and family preferences for how healthcare is delivered with a view to improving uptake and promoting patient-oriented care, examining how changes to health service models affect unmet need and inequalities in healthcare, and cost-effectiveness of mental health interventions.
