Ms Melinda Chapman
Melinda Chapman is the Manager of Community Support at Wyndham City Council, and is responsible for the management of a range of services including Maternal Child Health, Family Support, Early Education and Care , Youth and Aged and Disability Services . She has more than 30 years of experience in the management of services for families. Melinda is passionate about the development of programs for children that have experienced trauma, particularly those from refugee backgrounds. Melinda has held a variety of senior leadership and policy roles in the NGO and government sector. She is the author of two books; Healing Through Play: Inviting Spaces to Support Refugee Children and Linking Celebrations and Diversity in Children’s Services and is contributing author of Inviting Play. Melinda was a founding member of the Real Rights For Refugee Children Advocacy Group and the National Convener for the Association of Multicultural and Ethnic Children’s Services. She is committed to the development of an innovative and connected service system which empowers, engages and enables Wyndham families.
